This is not just a case for<br \/>\n        good manners but is, in some states, the law. Not to mention it\u2019s kind of gross to just leave lying around.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt\">Here are some facts about the good ol&#8217; poop factor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"655\" height=\"434\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zookie.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/004-101.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3068\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.zookie.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/004-101.jpg 655w, https:\/\/www.zookie.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/004-101-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 655px) 100vw, 655px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"txt\"><strong>Dog poo, diseases &amp; danger<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dog poop is home to <em>Giardia lambia<\/em>, an especially nasty protozoan which brings about stomach pain,<br \/>\n            vomiting, diarrhoea, and bloating. Leaving dog poo around means that people can easily get infected.<\/li>\n<li>When dog poo washes away in the waterways it increases algae growth, contaminating the water and effecting<br \/>\n            natural ecosystems.<\/li>\n<li>Just a smidge of dog poop contains millions of bacteria, including <em>E. coli<\/em>. This bacteria can be<br \/>\n            potentially fatal to both humans and animals.<\/li>\n<li>Dog poop is like a shining beacon for flies, which will feast on the undigested food found in your pet\u2019s<br \/>\n            poo. Flies are carriers of dangerous bacteria which they can easily transfer to any surface they chose to<br \/>\n            stop and rest on\u2014including our food!<\/li>\n<li>Leaving your dog\u2019s poop on the street or the ground can cause accidents among other pedestrians. Every year,<br \/>\n            hundreds of people suffer injuries (including sprains and fractured bones) because they have slipped on dog<br \/>\n            poo. Gross, huh?<\/li>\n<li>Dog poop also contains tapeworm eggs, which could be transmitted to humans and animals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"txt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"655\" height=\"434\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zookie.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/001-88.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3066\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.zookie.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/001-88.jpg 655w, https:\/\/www.zookie.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/001-88-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 655px) 100vw, 655px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"txt\">Dog poo is a major health issue, for both your home and community. Under the <em>Dog and Cat<br \/>\n            Management Act of 1995<\/em>, it is a pet owner\u2019s responsibility to pick up and dispose of their dog\u2019s faeces<br \/>\n        from a public place. You can be fined for failing to do so properly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"655\" height=\"434\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zookie.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/003-106.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3067\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.zookie.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/003-106.jpg 655w, https:\/\/www.zookie.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/003-106-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 655px) 100vw, 655px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"txt\">You can easily clean up after your dog by bringing around small, biodegradable bags.
