The cool folk at Gelatissimo are treating our four-legged friends with an all-new Doggie Gelato. Yes, really!
This is one special Gelato; it’s been specially created with dogs in mind so it’s dairy free and totally suitable for dogs, while also being super delicious. In fact, us humans can eat it too. Win-win!
Filipe Barbosa, CEO of Gelatissimo, tells us, “We noticed dogs and their owners were sharing more moments out together, with dog bowls in front of cafes and shopfronts, and wanted to capture this moment too. We thought, why not treat our furry friends to some gelato as well?“So we did some research and found that there were ingredients out there that can be safely consumed by dogs, but tasty enough for owners too! At Gelatissimo HQ there are lots of dog lovers, so naturally it was a yes to the idea!”
Flavoured with peanut nougat, it’s no surprise that Gelatissimo’s Doggie Gelato is a big hit.“It’s been overwhelming! We’ve been on The Living Room and Weekend Today, as well as national and local press. Owners and pooches of Australia are loving it; we’ve had numerous posts on Instagram of dogs enjoying their gelato, with someone calling it ‘the best thing ever’. We’re ecstatic!”
This pawsome limited edition flavour is available in selected stores while stocks last.
So of course, what we really wanted to know is will we be seeing more Doggie Gelato flavours…
“We didn’t consider it at the time of launch, but we’re open to it! We did try a Beef Jerky flavour but it wasn’t quite tasty enough for us humans!”
As to whether Gelatissimo will introduce Doggie Gelato permanently, Filipe says it depends on the popularity of this one—so go grab your pooch a treat.
Available to purchase from Balmain, Bondi, Central Park, Coogee, Cronulla, Lane Cove, Newtown, Watsons Bay, Wagga Wagga, Manuka, Lygon Street, Coolangatta, Mackay, Mooloolaba, Noosa, Toowoomba, Townsville, Norwood and Surfers Paradise stores—while stocks last. *Limited to one scoop per dog.
