It’s back: Australia Day ‘Every Man & His Dog’ stand up paddle event

While Australia Day fireworks are a no-go for pets, there are a whole heap of cool ways to get your canine companion involved in a bit of good ‘ol Aussie Day fun.

If you’re a Sydney-sider why not go for a pooch paddle?

For the third year running Watsons Bay Hotel is throwing its support behind WATSSUP Every Man and His Dog stand up paddle boarding event.

WATSSUP is open to kids and adult amateurs right through to pro paddlers. There are various categories to participate in, but our absolute favourite (of course!) is the Man and Dog races.

Both man (or woman) and dog must remain on the board at all times during the 500m flat water course. Mmmn, harder than it sounds!

But that’s not all, there’s the Man & Dog Best Dress Competition, which is surely going to see some ‘pawsome’ fancy-dress duos. Think Bert and Ernie or Batman and Robin!

The fun doesn’t stop there, you and your furry friend can also take part in the Man & Dog SUP Treasure Hunt—a man-and-dog-partnership, or should we say balancing act, that can win you great prizes.

WATSSUP takes place on Tuesday 26 January, 2015, kicking off at 7.30am-11.30am. You must register prior to the event with online registration closing at 8pm this Sunday (24 January). Check out the full details here.
